Bray Town Rejuvenation Plan

Bray Town Rejuvenation Plan

The Bray Town Centre Rejuvenation Plan was developed by a Task Force established by Bray Town Council.  The Town Centre Rejuvenation Plan was adopted by the members of Bray Town Council in November 2006. The Rejuvenation Committee includes representatives from the local authority as well as representatives of the business community, including Bray & District Chamber, the Bray Retailers Forum and the Bray Retailers Group.  Mr Dermod Dwyer is the independent Chairperson to oversee the implementation of the Rejuvenation Plan.

The committee is a public/private partnership group tasked to lead and implement significant improvement to the central business area of Bray. Bray’s Town Rejuvenation Implementation Committee has given the retail core of the town a facelift by painting the facades, installing an irrigation system for the 500 flower baskets, providing Shopfront Grants, funding Christmas lights and making Bray a more attractive place to visit, shop and do business.

Bray Town Council won the “Partnership In Business” award for the Bray Town Rejuvenation Implementation Committee at the prestigious Chambers Ireland Excellence in Local Government Awards 2008 which were held in the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Santry, Dublin on 6th November 2008.

The Cathaoirleach of Bray Town Council, Councillor Ciaran O’Brien expressed his delight and appreciation that Bray was the recipient of such a prestigious and important award. He commented that. This is a great achievement for Bray and County Wicklow. The Bray Town Rejuvenation Implementation committee is having a huge impact on the appearance of Bray’s town centre area, and that is being reflected in a renewed sense of pride of place among both business people and consumers alike in Bray. The members of the Committee are committed to maintaining this momentum, and to ensure that Bray’s retail environment is improved for the benefit of all.
